It’s just not summer until you have had the sun in your face while your feet are tapping and head swaying to some good, live music.
But no need to search high and low for bands to see, Santa Clarita is bringing the live music to you and your family with their annual Concert in the Park series. This year’s free series is bringing a plethora of talent in a variety of genres—everything from classic rock tribute bands to mellow beach rock to re-creation of disco and funk.
First to take the Central Park stage on July 9 is Hotel California, a Tribute to the Eagles. And who doesn’t love The Eagles? Their smooth, soulful sound always takes you back to the days when good rock music was all you needed.
“When Hotel California played at the concert series four or five years back, they drew big crowds,” said Mike Fleming, the concert series director. “We anticipate big crowds for them this year.”
Hotel California has dedicated more than two decades to re-creating the Grammy award-wining sounds of the Eagles. So relax, feel the wind in your hair and don’t forget to sing along to your favorite Eagles song, “Oooh witch-ay woman…”

Also taking the stage this month is Timeless Wonder-Steve Baldwin on July 16, The Spazmatics on July 23 and Ken O’Malley and the Twilight Lords on July 30.
If you miss bands like the Beach Boys who were able to capture the essence of summer in a 4 minute beat, the Surf City All Stars are a must-see. Formed in the early 80’s with original Beach Boys Al Jardine and David Marks, the All Stars send out good vibrations with a sound that is unique only to Southern California.
Playing next month are the Boogie Knights on August 6, TIZER featuring Karen Briggs on August 13 and Jack Mack and the Heart Attack on August 27.
All bands will play at the Santa Clarita Central Park every Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Fleming says these concerts are fun for the whole family.”The families come out to enjoy the weather and enjoy the great music,” said Fleming.
Come on an empty stomach–Meestee’s BBQ, Whole Foods, Chic-Fil-A and Our Place BBQ will be the food vendors at the concert series.
