Ed Davis Dies On Saturday

Former Santa Clarita State Senator, and Los Angeles Police Chief, Ed Davis, died Saturday night. He was 89. David died at a San Luis Obispo hospital from complications from pneumonia.

As a legislator, Davis represented the 19th district, which included Santa Clarita, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, and the northern San Fernando Valley.

Ed Davis Park, in Towsley Canyon was named after the former State Senator, after he championed the preservation of Towsley Canyon in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Davis was survived by his wife, his children Michael Davis, Christine Coey and Mary Ellen Burde, and four stepchildren. Funeral plans are pending.
