Edison Work To Affect Traffic Around Mall Tonight

The City of Santa Clarita has announced that traffic signals at Magic Mountain Parkway and its intersections at McBean Parkway and Auto Center Drive may be affected by work being done on an electrical vault in the area by Edison crews tonight.  Signals at the Valencia Town Center may also be affected, with some delays expected.

The city has issued the following statement:

“We apologize for any inconvenience and delays encountered due to the power outage that affected these traffic signals. The power outage was necessary as Southern California Edison completed some critical repairs and upgrades to their power distribution system in this area. These repairs will help SCE to continue to meet the power requirements of
local users and reduce the possibility of significant outages due to equipment failures.

“City Staff worked with SCE to schedule this work at at night which would minimize its impact on motorists as well as area businesses . Unfortunately, due to the amount of work required to complete the project it did affect the morning commute period. City staff has arranged for traffic control by the sheriff at these intersections in an effort to minimize the impact to the motoring public.”
