In recent weeks, I’ve been openly critical of Supervisor Antonovich as he’s tried to stop the annexation of Stonecrest into our City, even though he’s claiming to be neutral. I thought I’d take a lot of heat for vocalizing my opposition. Instead, I’ve had dozens and dozens of community leaders tell me it’s about time someone has spoken up. They’ve shared their own frustrations about the Supervisor. I’m being told, “the Supervisor has become too complacent. He’s been in power too long. What’s his real motivation, since there‘s no real value to Stonecrest staying in the County? Why is he doing this? These comments are all unsolicited. If I revealed the names behind the remarks, they’d be a who’s who of Santa Clarita. Maybe the Supervisor should spend a little more time up here and get a true understanding of the alienation he is creating with his constituents, not just over Stonecrest, but a variety of other local issues he appears to be neglecting.
