Understanding why Knight is our best choice to continue to represent our district is critical.

Knight has had our valley’s back for many years, representing Santa Clarita in Sacramento as our State Senator. While in Sacramento, Knight and his staff worked closely behind the scenes with our City on many of our local challenges. He took that same care and concern to Washington.

Knight has championed the battle to keep the Cemex megamine from opening in Canyon Country. He has worked in harmony with our City and our Mayor Bob Kellar to make sure legislation permanently ends this more than decade long saga.

On the national front, one of Knight’s priorities is to re-build our military, focusing on the technology of the future that desperately needs funding for research and development or we will wake up seeing the Chinese with weapons we can’t fathom. If we don’t stay vigilant, it will be too late.

Knight serves on the House Armed Services Committee and is making certain the military and aerospace industry remains vibrant in the Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys.

Santa Clarita actually has more companies and larger employment in aerospace/military than the Antelope Valley. These are top paying jobs and as one of the leading industries in our valley, it is one of the anchors that makes Santa Clarita such a stellar community.

What impresses us the most about Knight is he is so hands on. Unlike many other politicians who just make appearances at events to be seen, or like his opponent who doesn’t even show up, Knight walks the walk and talks the talk. Whatever the issue in our valley, or whatever the crisis, such as our recent Sand Fires, Knight is on the front lines, assessing the situation, determining the needs and figuring out how he and his staff can best assist.

Another one of Knight’s passions are our veterans. He has worked tirelessly to assist our returning vets to land on their feet. He is staying vigilant in making certain our soldiers are given the resources they need to defend our country and he recognizes many of the top Administrators in our VA have hit a new level of dysfunction and that agency needs a major makeover.

Last month. KHTS lead a large delegation on a trip to Washington DC to advocate for a numbe of issues impacting our valley such as Education, Mental Health Funding, Water, Transportation to mention a few.

Knight and his staff arranged many key meetings and opened their doors for us. We were able to see, first hand, how much Knight is respected, how well he works with his peers and how quickly he matured into an energetic and wise legislator. We are proud to have him as our representative.

We are saddened that the Democratic Party chose an opponent who brings nothing for our Valley and who has resorted to a campaign that has hit a new low in Santa Clarita politics.

The National Democratic party has thrown millions of dollars into trying to defeat Congressman Steve Knight, Dante Acosta who is running for our State Assembly and Assemblyman Scott Wilk who is now running for our State Senator.

In the case of trial attorney Bryan Caforio who is running against Knight for Congress, other than his appearances at KHTS for a couple of on air interviews, we have yet to see him at any Santa Clarita event.

He certainly wasn’t even on the back lines during our recent Sand Fire. We haven’t seen him supporting any local community event or organization in our valley. We doubt he has any understanding or history of the issues that most impact our Valley nor does he seem to want to take the time and energy to learn about them.

So before you mark your ballot, throw out the propaganda mailers stuffed in your mailbox and take time to study the differences between Congressman Steve Knight and his opponent.

Once you do, we believe you will agree with us, the only choice for Congress is Steve Knight.

  1. I’m sad to see KHTS endorsing Knight. He is an extremist who believes that abortion should be outlawed even in the case when the life of the woman is in danger. Watching the debate between Knight and Bryan Caforio showcased Knight as rude, dismissive, and a bully. I certainly don’t want him deciding my rights or the rights of other women to obtain safe healthcare. So while Knight is busy building our military and taking care of our veterans (which ‘we’ are not doing enough for on either matter), he will be stripping women’s rights away. I’d rather vote for someone who cares about all people, equally.

About Carl Goldman

Carl Goldman, along with his wife, Jeri repurchased KHTS AM-1220, Santa Clarita’s hometown station on October 24, 2003. They owned it from 1990-1998, and then sold it to Clear Channel Communication in 1998, buying it back from Clear Channel in 2003. Since then, they have rebuilt KHTS as a critical voice of the Valley. In 2015 the radio station moved to its new headquarters on Main Street in Old Town Newhall, in the original Newhall Hardware building. In 2018 an FM was added, 98.1, with its signal being simulcast with AM-1220. In January 2020, Carl and Jeri cruised on the Diamond Princess. Carl was one of the first Americans to come down with Covid-19. Months earlier he was impacted by Guillain Barre Syndrome as a result of a Shingles vaccine in September 2019. He is still in recovery from the vaccine.
