Augusta, who has served as both a teacher and principal for Northlake Hills Elementary, is resigning from her current position in order to pursue a new job in curriculum and professional development, according to officials.

I have so many wonderful memories of my time at Northlake Hills and I am sad to say goodbye,” said Augusta in a farewell letter to Northlake Hills families. “Northlake Hills Elementary has been, and will continue to be, a very special place for me and I will miss everyone.”

In her farewell letter, Augusta thanked all of the staff at Northlake Hills for the many years of service they shared together.

“The staff at Northlake Hills is an outstanding group of professionals … and friends,” said Augusta. “I am proud of their dedication to make our school a great place for learning. The teamwork between teachers, specialists, office staff, assistants and custodians sets a high standard and creates a sense of pride to be an Eagle.”

As she leaves her position as principal, Augusta made sure to let parents know how much working with their children meant to her.

“I love to start my day greeting students and families outside,” said Augusta. “I walk the campus daily, stopping in classrooms to listen and help, and love the kids’ excitement for learning.  My interaction with your children brings joy into my life.”

Augusta is expected to finish the school year at Northlake Hills.
