Nearly 10,000 students are expected to enroll in approximately 290 class sections, which begin in January.
“The college’s winter session course selection has been designed to help accelerate the achievement of student learning outcomes by providing students with increased access to the classes they need,” stated a COC news release.
A large cross section of available courses will primarily be general education “core” classes that all students need to graduate, transfer to a four-year school and/or meet course prerequisites associated with their immediate educational plans.
The benchmark winter session is following an already record-breaking number of class sections offered during the fall 2014 semester.

The college’s winter session begins on January 5 and concludes on February 7. Registration is ongoing at both the Valencia and Canyon Country campuses, and college officials are encouraging students to sign up for classes as soon as possible to avoid being waitlisted.
Winter enrollment fees, which are regularly $46 per unit, are set to be waived for high school students in an effort to allow them to “test drive the College of the Canyons experience,” according to the news release.
Potential students can search winter and spring class schedules, apply to the college and complete the enrollment process by visiting the college’s website.
