College of the Canyons officials, in partnership with KHTS AM-1220 and Signal SCV, held their final job fair of the spring 2015 semester Wednesday.

About 50 employers from in and around the Santa Clarita Valley attended the event at the COC Canyon Country campus.

Hundreds of students scurried about, greeting different employers with freshly-printed resumes.

Dozens used the KHTS AM-1220 virtual job fair website to apply to employers who could not be present at the Canyon Country campus.

“Employers want to hire and they want to meet people in person,” said Lonnie Davis, who works with Career Services at College of the Canyons, in a previous interview. “Most resumes are done online, but it will be great for people to talk to the employers and ask questions.”

Business representatives who attended the job fair included the California Highway Patrol, United States Postal Service, Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“Some of our best interns and employees come from College of the Canyons job fairs,” said Jeri Seratti-Goldman, co-owner of KHTS AM-1220. “It’s always a pleasure to attend these events and see the bright faces of our future.”
