The café will be open on Thursdays starting June 25 from 11:30-2pm and will end on July 30.

“I am excited for our café production class to run a ‘live’ restaurant to give our advanced students real world experience,” said Cindy Schwanke, the Department Chair for Culinary Arts and Wine Studies at COC. “This will be the first time we will be able to showcase our dedicated and talented students and present the new iCue building.”

The students will be planning out a menu as well as costing it, ordering goods from local vendors, working with a state-of-the-art point of sale system and will prep and cook a four course meal, according to Schwanke.

The menu will be prefixed, set at $20 per person.

Reservations can be made at the following link:

iCue is also starting to offer community education classes where any community member can come and enjoy an afternoon of cooking with a professional chef, according to Schwanke.

A cheese and wine pairing workshop will be held on Friday, June 19 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. with Chef Daniel Otto and Sommelier Mark Boietiff.

The cost of the workshop is $60 and students must be 21 years or older to participate. A photo I.D. will be required, according to the COC’s website.

Registration for the workshop closes on Thursday, June 18 at midnight. Sign up here.

“This new building supports, energizes and educates the Santa Clarita food movement,” said Schwanke.
