Veterans Mental Health ForumThe Regional Strategizing Forum on Veterans Mental Health and Related Support Services will be held from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the Valencia campus.

Sponsored by the Child and Family Center, the forum will focus on mental health and readjustment for veterans and their families, including the services that are available to them.

David Joseph, a counselor at the Oakland Veterans Center, has been invited as the keynote speaker. He will also moderate a panel of student veterans who will discuss their experiences with the local system of care.

After the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with local mental health care providers, during a networking lunch and panel discussion.

Representatives from the county Department of Mental Health, the Sepulveda Veterans Center, The Soldiers Project, Habitat for Heroes and the Child and Family Center, among others will be present, according to a COC press release.

The event also counts as Continued Education Hours, required for registered nurses, social workers, educational psychologists, clinical counselors, marriage and family therapists and drug and alcohol counselors.

Anyone wishing to earn C.E. Hours through the forum must pay $25 in advance.

Online registration is required both for paying and non-paying attendees. Click here to learn more.
