On the College of the Canyons Valencia campus, a coalition of women from Santa Clarita, ranging in age from adults to young students, have been invited to participate in the 2018 Women’s Conference and hear from women of Boston Scientific.

“There is going to be three different sessions, each with about six different workshops, and all of which will be speaking on our theme for this year: ‘Making the Most of Your Life,’” said Diane Fiero, vice president of human resources at College of the Canyons and one of the event organizers. “We’re really trying to make sure we have a broad offering, and make sure we’re looking at what would be of interest to people in our community.”

Topics of conversation and focuses of the workshops are scheduled to range from interview skills to being an inspirational parent to “finding your voice,” according to Fiero.

Among the sessions will be female engineers and researchers from Boston Scientific — an international organization that drives development in health care and scientific research around the globe.

“The panel of speakers from Boston Scientific will be talking about being successful women in their field, and how that can apply to all women who want to follow their career dreams,” said Fiero.

Included in the cost of admission is not only access to at least 20 different sessions and  multiple vendors, but those in attendance will also be treated to lunch and breakfast.

The 2018 Women’s Conference is set to take place on March 17 from 8-3 p.m. at the University Center on COC’s Valencia Campus.
