Students from Trinity Classical Academy will join the Grace Baptist Praise Symphony Orchestra for a concert next week.

Students in third through twelfth grade from Trinity Classical Academy’s Jazz Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra will join in the concert, which will feature music from all over the world, guided by longtime director Lisa Hernacki Tuesday, May 3from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

This concert is free and open to the public, and will be held in the Worship Center at Grace Baptist Church, located at 22833 Copper hill Drive.

For the first half of the concert, Ms. Hernacki will direct Trinity’s Jazz Ensemble performance ofThat’s My Peanut Butter Cup, Sideways Walking Dog, and Danza Para Mi Hija (Dance for my Daughter), then their Symphony Orchestra as they perform Fire Dance, Zia, and Brave Spirit.

Unique to this concert is that Trinity’s musicians will be judged by professional music educators in preparation for their participation in next month’s Forum Music Festival in Fullerton where they will play before adjudicators and receive a rating on their performance.

“Because Orchestra Director Lisa Hernacki oversees The Grace Baptist Praise Symphony Orchestra, as well as Trinity’s Jazz Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra, we are able to facilitate such an important ministry opportunity both musically and spiritually,” said Tom Brown, Trinity’s Fine Arts Director. “Our Trinity students will have the opportunity to play next to highly experienced and some professional musicians that have a love for the Lord and a desire to share their talents and vast knowledge with our students.”

The Trinity Symphony Orchestra, which includes several members of their Jazz Ensemble, will join The Grace Baptist Praise Symphony Orchestra for the second half of the concert playing selections that will include the theme to Jurassic Park, Under an Irish Sky, Russian Sailors Dance, Among the Clouds, and musical selections from Star Wars The Force Awakens.

Trinity’s Jazz Ensemble is a group of Rhetoric School students who share a love for the “sweet n’ hot” sounds of jazz.

Students playing Alto Sax are Cameron Hartich and Dante del Rosario; Sumner Howell will play Tenor Sax; and the Rhythm Section has Andrew Dever on Electric Base, Colin Lintereur playing the piano, while Spenser Rapier and Jonathan Roach play drums and percussion.

The Trinity Symphony Orchestra is comprised of students Emma Leathers, Rylee Hillemann, Cai Margrave, Francesca Immel, and Kendall Lescher on the violin; with Noah Chang and Andrew Sung on the cello; Lucas Spring on String Bass; and Claire Masters on both the violin and the mandolin who make up the Strings Section.

The Woodwind Section has Allie Brown, Jocelyn Margrave, Kayden Zuloaga and Brielle Miller on the flute; along with Samuel Alfsen playing the flute and the piccolo; Rachel Struble playing the oboe; with Nathan Han and Dante del Rosario playing the clarinet; and on the saxophone is Cameron Hartich, Owen Miller and Sumner Howell.

Performing in the percussion section is Spenser Rapier, Andrew Dever, Jonathna Roach, Gretell Castro, Katie Brown, Judah Palmisano and graduating senior Shelby Swartz.

Rounding out Trinity’s Symphony Orchestra is the Brass section with Andrew McNeal on the trumpet, Shey Margrave on baritone and the Director of Trinity’s Fine Arts Tom Brown playing the trombone.

With over 50 members ranging in age from 13 through 70, The Grace Baptist Praise Symphony Orchestra directed by Lisa Hernacki has been a fundamental part of the Grace Baptist Church service for over 24 years.

Many of their former members are now serving in major symphony orchestras throughout the United States, and others have received full scholarships to many prestigious colleges, universities and conservatories of music.

The Grace Baptist Praise Symphony Orchestra has performed for many community outreach events, and even was commissioned through Grace Baptist Church’s partnership with Global Missions as missionaries to Belgium to serve in the Brussels Refuge Camps and local Christian churches.
