Every day, Levi takes a total of 25 pills and has three 30-minute lung treatments to help prevent infection. Despite his disease, Levi plays football, soccer and basketball, and excels academically as well.

“My favorite subject is math because I get to learn different equations,” he said, describing his teacher, Jill Johns, as “kind” and “caring.”

“(Levi) is an absolute delight to have in class and in school because of his love for others and strong character,” school officials said. “He is loved and respected by his fellow students, teachers, staff and administration.”

Levi noted that his favorite part of being a student at Legacy Christian Academy is “that I can learn the word of God.”

To show their support for Levi, a group from the Santa Clarita Christian school recently participated in the Great Strides Cystic Fibrosis Walk at the Westfield Valencia Town Center.

Levi was listed as the No. 3 Top Strider in Valencia on the fundraiser’s website, and his team, “For the Love of Levi,” raised a total of $4,600 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

“Levi is our hero,” read a statement on the team’s page. “He has gone through so much in just his (ten) years of life, but what a trooper this little boy is… We are so thankful for our family and friends who have supported us in this journey so far, but our work is not over, and we will not stop until everyone with CF is cured.”
