Newhall School District officials have hired new administrators for the upcoming 2015-16 school year.

Carla Hicks, formerly Assistant Principal of Stevenson Ranch Elementary School, will lead McGrath Elementary. She succeeds long-time NSD administrator Larry Heath, who is retiring.
Amy Gaudette will serve as Interim Principal of Valencia Valley School, replacing Staci Block who very recently took a position in San Diego County. Gaudette had previously served as Peachland School’s Assistant Principal.
Dee Jamison is the District’s new Administrator of Professional Development. Erstwhile of the Palmdale School District, she comes to Newhall with a wealth of experience supporting teaching and learning. Working under the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, Jamison’s primary responsibility will be to elaborate the District’s transition to the Common Core State Standards.
Kim LePage will serve as Assistant Principal at Meadows School. She comes to Newhall from the Castaic Union School District.
Ernestina Aguilar, also formerly of Castaic, will serve as Assistant Principal at Peachland Elementary.
Finally, Amanda Montemayor, formerly a teacher at Stevenson Ranch, will serve as Assistant Principal for Oak Hills and Valencia Valley schools.
“I am excited to work with these talented administrators, said Superintendent Paul Cordeiro. “They came out on top in a very rigorous hiring process. Newhall has, over time, developed a culture of excellence. That culture is built on its outstanding employees and so the character of our hires does justice to that culture. They are going to have a very positive impact on student achievement.”
