Every year, the Newhall School District governing board updates stakeholders on the district’s progress in education and achievement in California state standards.

Stakeholders include: parents, teachers, staff, faculty, administration, etc.
The State of the District meeting will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 6:00 p.m. in the Wiley Canyon School Multipurpose Room.
Attendees will learn about the following:
- How our students are doing on the new State tests
- What we are doing to teach the new Common Core State Standards, particularly in mathematics
- How we are ramping up for science under the Next Generation Science Standards
- How we are using voter-approved Measure E funds to modernize our facilities and add more technology to classrooms
- What we are doing to address declining enrollment that is occurring throughout the Santa Clarita Valley

Also, attendees will have an opportunity to meet the Newhall School District Governing Board members to ask questions and offer commentary regarding the district’s efforts to ensure student success. The district will provide child care (care includes light snacks) as well as a box dinner to all adult attendees.
