A Santa Clarita Valley International student will be attending UCLA in the fall after officially signing on with the school’s diving team Wednesday.

Veronica Thompson, a 17-year-old senior at SCVi Charter School, was described by SCVi officials as a “gifted athlete” and a “highly accomplished student.”
“Veronica is an incredibly self-directed student who exemplifies the results that come from strong commitment to both athletics and academics,” said SCVi facilitator Cheryl Sena. “We couldn’t be more proud of her and look forward to celebrating this incredible milestone with her.”
