Last November, Dr. John MacArthur, president of The Master’s University, announced a 26 percent cut in tuition during a morning chapel service in front of the assembled study body.
“Our Board has come to the conviction that we must open accessibility to TMU for many more students to meet the challenges and opportunities for the gospel in our day,” said Dr. MacArthur. “Recognizing that cost is the main barrier, the Board has mandated a significant reset in tuition.”
Effective Fall 2018, the new annual tuition will be reduced from $33,600 to $24,950.
The university has labeled the reduction a “reset”, because the change is resetting many other aspects of the school, according the Sabrina Michael, Junior Copywriter for The Master’s University.
“It’s a reset because it’s across the board,” said Michael. “It’s a reset on tuition and scholarships. Due to the tuition price changing, scholarship and financial aid is proportionally adjusted.”
The reset is already demonstrating positive results in increased interest from new students, according to school officials.
“Ultimately, we want this unique and wonderful education to be available to as many students possible,” said Michael. “A big reason many could not come was because of the tuition, and with this exciting reset more people will be able to proudly say ‘I attended and graduated from The Master’s University.’”
