On the evening of May 29, the 2018 class of graduating seniors from Canyon High School were honored and officially graduated from high school.

After walking down to their seats, the flags were presented by a local Air Force Junior ROTC color guard, while the senior members of the school’s Choral Music program sang the national anthem.

Seniors Gabriela Sanchez and David Samvelian acted as co-valedictorians, each giving a commencement address following a welcome from Shellie Holcombe, the new principal for Canyon High.

Then, Ushni Gupta and Mackenzie Krestul worked together to give the senior speech for their graduating class.

Bradley Brooks, the outgoing ASB president, passed on the school key to Amanda Bacon, president of the class of 2019.

The members of Choral Music returned to the stage to sing ‘Beautiful City,’ and Holcombe then went on to recognize the honors scholars of the class of 2018.

Finally, after Victoria Engbrecht, superintendent for the William S. Hart Union High School District, presented the class of 2018, diplomas were awarded, and the students moved the tassels on their caps from right to left, signifying that they had finally graduated from Canyon High School.
