Canyon High School is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary by honoring the 50 most influential people in the school’s history, and officials are asking Santa Clarita residents to nominate anybody who they feel should be honored.

While the half-century birthday will not be until Sept. 4, officials from the William S. Hart Union High School District have opened up the nomination process to the public.

“These folks can be graduates, teachers, administrators, or folks who were instrumental in the success of the school and those associated with it,” said a news release from the district. “The 50 will be spread over six different categories.”

“We are looking for individuals who you think might be great candidates of the 50 Most Influential people who graduated from Canyon High and went on to accomplish extraordinary things in education, athletics, arts/entertainment, business, or government,” according to school officials.
