Jared Snyder is charged accused in a seven-count felony complaint, alleging misappropriation of public funds by a public officer, embezzlement by a public officer and grand theft by embezzlement.
He’s due back in court in May at a “readiness hearing” for both sides to meet and discuss the case’s status for trial.
Barring a reschedule, a preliminary hearing for the judge to hear the evidence against Snyder and decide whether there’s enough for trial, is set for June 1.
In March 2014, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Fraud & Cyber Crimes Bureau initiated an investigation based on the findings of the William S. Hart School District’s audit, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release.
The losses to the program are suspected to exceed $15,000, according to Sheriff’s Department officials.
During the 10-month investigation, evidence was gathered that showed Snyder was submitting fraudulent reimbursement forms to Valencia High School ASB, officials stated.
Snyder was placed on leave in March 2014, and later replaced by Michael Killinger, who’s currently the head coach.
Snyder coached the program from 1998 to 2014.

This guy is such a loser. One of the worst teachers at that school (which is saying quite a bit).
This is really too bad. I went to school with Jared. He was a cool guy. A little cocky, but he was pretty smart and a good athlete too. If there was any misapropriation of funds, then he should have to pay the money back, plus a fine and make a public apology too. If he did that, then he gets my approval. He may have made a very costly mistake. I’m not talking about the 15k that he aledgedly took either. If there was any inappropriate conduct, then he has to pay the consequences. I don’t think people should hate him. Just try to put yourself in his shoes for a second. Have empathy for another human being. People learn from their mistakes usually and Jared is not a bad person.
So we are talking about possibly $15,000 over a 6 year period out of over a million dollars. If honest accounting errors did occur (if even that happened, after all the guy was not an accountant) then restitution should be paid. Of course no charges should have been filed. You cant ruin a man’s life over such a minor infraction (if that was even true).
Something is fishy here, I heard there was a disgruntled parent with very high connections in the sheriff department that started this garbage. How much money is being wasted, spent because of this $15,000. Is it worth it to the taxpayer?
Felony charges, are you kidding me.
Shame on you
