Hart district officials named Dave Caldwell their new spokesman Wednesday, filling the void left by the departure of Gail Pinsker.

Caldwell comes to the William S. Hart Union High School District from SCVTV, where he has served as sports director, news anchor, morning show host and producer since 2007. Before that, he was at KHTS AM-1220 and The Signal.
After Pinsker announced plans to leave in December, the district undertook an extensive search for a replacement and saw dozens of resumes, officials said.
He said he was honored to continue the work of Pinsker, who now carries a similar title for the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District.
“All of my interactions over the years with district leaders, administrators, teachers and coaches has shown me these are great people as well as fine professionals,” Caldwell said. “To work with them on a daily basis will be a pleasure for me.”
William S. Hart Union High School District officials oversee more than 22,000 public junior high and high school students.
