A district source told KHTS AM-1220 Challinor, who’s been with the district since 2010, was asked to leave at the end of next month.

Board member Joe Messina also said there has been no official change to Challinor’s status, and no new decisions have been made regarding the board’s options.

“I am sorry someone close to the board has decided to spread rumors about a personnel issue,” Messina said. “As of (Thursday night), Jan. 31, 2015, will be (Challinor’s) last day.”

Challinor is the third superintendent to announce his resignation this year.
