Hart High School has, once again, been listed as one of the nation’s best public high schools by the U.S. News & World Report.

The school is in the top five percent of the nation and is ranked 1,044 by the magazine, which is considered the most eminent listing in the country.
The listing ranks Hart as 204th in California. 51 percent of its student body is taking at least one AP class, and has a college readiness index of 38.6,
In addition to Hart earning silver status, Academy of the Canyons and Opportunities for Learning earned bronze.
The magazine’s annual rankings look at over 21,000 high schools across the country to determine their list.
Only the top 30 percent are awarded gold, silver, or bronze status, with those ranked gold and silver being ranked both nationally and within their state.
California was second to Maryland in the percentage of high schools earning gold or silver medals. Maryland has 30% of its schools while California has 27% on the list.
For the fourth consecutive year, The School for the Talented and Gifted in Dallas is the nation’s No. 1 public high school, according to U.S. News.
