An 85-year old man died Wednesday afternoon after his car left the roadway and flipped over several times, landing in a ravine in Vasquez Canyon.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Wellington Bargar, the man was driving a 2004 Ford Taurus westbound on Vasquez Canyon Road, 2 miles east of Bouquet Canyon Road at approximately 4:45 p.m. when he crossed the eastbound lane and ran off the road.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident, although Bargar said the vehicle kicked up a lot of debris that landed on a nearby car when he went off the road.
The man was declared dead at the scene. His identity was withheld pending notification of relatives.
