Candidate filings, debates, fill the area's calendar.
Super-Tuesday is but a memory and city council races are coming up in April, but that didn’t stop some early-bird entries for county, state and national seats in the June primary race.
Throwing their hats into the ring Monday were environmentalist Carole Luteness, who is challenging Assemblyman Cameron Smyth for his seat; Barstow resident Jacquese Conaway who hopes to unseat Congressman Buck McKeon and Socialism/Liberation Party candidate Stephen Mark Hinze who is seeking to replace Mike Antonovich in the Fifth District of the LA County Board of Supervisors.
The filing period closes March 7.
