Grab your partner and make reservations for the Friends of Hart Park’s annual fundraiser, Silents Under the Stars, at 6:00 on Saturday, August 13. Attendees will experience the “reel West” at the William S. Hart Park and Museum while enjoying a barbecue dinner, two western silent films, and an evening under the stars.
Set against the scenic hills of Hart Park, Silents Under the Stars will offer visitors a catered dinner from Rattlers Bar-B-Que Restaurant, a silent auction with unique Western collectibles and antiques, live bluegrass music, and a presentation about the event’s movies by silent film historians. Guests will watch two of the greatest cowboy movie actors from the silent era in two films accompanied by live organ music, The Saga of William S. Hart and the Tom Mix favorite, The Great K & A Train Robbery.

Prior to dinner and the movies, guest may also enjoy guided tours of the William S. Hart Museum, which is modeled in the Spanish Colonial Revival style. This former home of the famed silent film star exhibits collections of artwork by artists Charles Russell and Frederic Remington, sculptures by Charles Cristadoro, and artifacts from various Native American cultures.
Ticket reservations are required, and are available online at www.friendsofhartpark.org. The cost is $50 per person or $500 to reserve a table for 10.
