Enjoying Nature For A Good Cause

breast-cancer-ribbon-21On October 22, families are invited to walk for those who have battled against breast cancer in a fundraising event for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.  A 5K walk, nature walk, and horseback ride at Vasquez Rocks in Agua Dulce will be the center of the event and fun family activities will round out the day.

Attendees are invited to bring their horse or walking shoes for one of the guided walks.  The entry fee is $20 per participant and lunch is included.  The event will also include raffles, glitter tattoos, photos with a pink pony, riding demos, and more.  Raffle prizes will include items donated by local restaurants and horse feed and tack.

The 5K walk begins at 10 a.m., the Nature Walk starts at 10:20 a.m., and the 2 hour horseback ride sets off at 10:30.

This event is part of a nation wide day to benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation by the 40 Something Cowgirls and Equestrian Trails, Inc.  Santa Clarita’s local chapters, The Dusty Saddlebags and E.T.I Corral # 86, are sponsors of this event.

Cindy Alleman, the “queen” or president of The Dusty Saddlebags said that this event has special significance to their chapter because one of their members is a breast cancer survivor and another is currently going through chemotherapy.
