This milestone is part of an important project led by the City to extend the Santa Clara River Trail to the Fallen Warriors Memorial Bridge and ultimately to the City’s Discovery Park. The new trail extension provides enhanced bicycle access to major destinations and employment centers throughout the City.

With the completion of Phase III, the local community will benefit from the trail system which conveniently connects to a trailhead that provides parking and easy access to both the 24-acre River Village Park and open space, as well as local shops in the community.

“The multi-use trail is safely accessible for bicyclists, pedestrians, joggers and equestrians.

Increasing access to our parks and open space is vital as it encourages an active and healthy lifestyle for Santa Clarita residents,” said Mayor Marsha McLean.

Future phases of the Santa Clara River extension project will expand the trail a mile and a half eastbound, from the Fallen Warriors Memorial Bridge on Golden Valley Road connecting to the existing trail at the City’s Discovery Park.

  1. Love learning about local happenings, but like most busy SCV residents, I need to be brought up to speed on details – like where is the Fallen Warrior memorial bridge? Maps or links would really help. Thanks.
