SCV Fishing Report April 10th: Local Lakes And Saltwater Report

Halibut Hal here with this weeks KHTS fishing report.  The weather was awesome and the fishing………….

Freshwater Report:
1)  Castaic Lake….It’s spawning mode as the largemouth bass move into the 2 foot to 15 foot depth of shallow water.
Also try the Lagoon in the shallows.  There continues to be good catfishin’ in the 80 foot depth by the buoy line.

2)  Pyramid Lake….There is still a decent striped bass bite happening for fish in the 2 to 4 pound size.  Find the bait schools and you should be able to nab a few stripers.  For largemouth bass, they continue to move into the shallow water to spawn.  On Saturday night (4/14) there is going to be a night-time fishing event for boat anglers.

3)  Lake Piru….Darn good bass and crappie action here!  The bass have moved shallow to spawn and anglers have had many limits of bass and several anglers have also made limits of crappie (the limit for crappie is 25 fish).

4)  Lake Cachuma….Many limits of trout for anglers trolling; try Santa Cruz Bay.  Try Cachuma Bay for catfish and crappie.  There will be one last trout plant this coming Friday, prior to the Trout Derby taking place on 4/14 and 4/15.

Saltwater Report:
