Here’s the latest from our local lakes:
1) Castaic Lake….The stripers are still boiling on the schools of shad. Try the Marina area and also the Ski and Fish arms of the lake. There’s also a few largemouth bass mixed in with the stripers. Decent catfishing and bluegill biting in the coves.
2) Pyramid Lake….Fair to good striped bass action also on the surface. Try the coves for bluegill and catfish. The largemouth bass are mostly suspended in 12 – 30 feet of water.
3) Lake Piru….Try early AM in the coves for good bass action. Fair catfish and bluegill bite. Very good crappie action in the coves and bays.
4) Lake Cachuma….Fair to good bass fishing on the surface or shallow water. Try the early AM or late afternoon for the best bites. Lots of bait around.
Pretty good bluegill bite.
