Around 450 vendors participated in the two-day event. Sponsors for the 2018 KHTS Home and Garden Show included the City of Santa Clarita, Feathers: Signs, Printing & Wraps, SoCalGas, Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, Southern California Edison, Frontier Toyota, Waste Management and Union Bank.

“We are picky about the vendors we select,” said Carl Goldman, KHTS co-owner and the event’s organizer. “Most have been established in Santa Clarita for many years, allowing our visitors to speak with trusted experts. We have vendors to cover every aspect of your home and garden, sharing the latest in designs and products.”

In addition to the hundreds of boutiques and activities made available during the weekend, the 2018 KHTS Home and Garden Show also included the KHTS Emergency Expo on Saturday.

The KHTS Emergency Expo gives local Los Angeles County Fire Department officials and Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies a unique opportunity to meet with residents and share information on emergency preparedness.

Along with meeting real-life firefighters and sheriff’s deputies, children and their families were given an opportunity to climb on board a fire truck, as well as a chance to hit the siren of a sheriff’s patrol vehicle.

Those in attendance at the KHTS Emergency Expo on Saturday were not only able to experience how first responders enter their vehicles when they’re called to an emergency, but they also saw a live demonstration on how Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel get victims out of vehicles during a life-or-death situation, with their “jaws of life” demonstration.

The City of Santa Clarita also hosted an Arbor Day Festival Saturday at the 2018 KHTS Home and Garden Show. The City of Santa Clarita’s Arbor Day celebration was held in conjunction with the worldwide Earth Day efforts of improving environmental awareness and taking care of the planet. The City was awarded the “Tree City” designation for the 27th year in a row.

Other highlights from the event included the 2018 KHTS Arts and Crafts Fair and the 2018 KHTS Home and Garden Show Marketplace.

“It’s one of our biggest events of the year, and it takes months of preparation to pull off,” said Goldman. “But every year it becomes a prime example of how connected and ‘small-town-esque’ our community remains to be, and KHTS will continue to help organize it for as long as Santa Clarita wants it.”

Next year’s KHTS Home & Garden show is already planned for the weekend of April 27 & 28th, 2019. For details on how to become a vendor visit www.scvhomeshow.com or email KHTS at homeshow@hometownstation.com.
