Bone Marrow Drive This Saturday For SCV Teen, Kendyl Biby

Bone Marrow drive set for this Saturday, August 19th for Kendyl Biby.

Kendyl Biby is a local Santa Clarita 15 year old that has Fanconi’s Anemia. The only cure as of date is a marrow transplant. She does not have a match.

The purpose of this drive is to get more people registered on the National Marrow Donor List. The cost is usually $52 for a person to register. The Red Cross is picking up the cost for those that register at this drive, thus the blood drive is included. The Red Cross is in desperate need for blood.

The Drive will take place at “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints”

Saturday’s drive will facilitate those that would like to register as a possible Marrow Donor or to give blood or to do both.  There will be a follow up blood drive on Thursday night, August 24th at the same location. This will be to donate blood only. This is for anyone who wants to donate but will be unavailable on Saturday the 19th. The time of this drive will be 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Added Bonus: The Red Cross is doing a $1,000 gas card raffle for anyone that donates blood during the month of August.
