Children’s Bureau is a nonprofit organization whose representatives work to help children get adopted and are hosting the event in November, which is recognized as National Adoption Awareness Month.

While all adoption–related issues are important, the particular focus of this month is the adoption of children currently in foster care, according to the news release. Every child deserves to have a safe, loving and permanent family.

There are children currently in foster care who are unable to return to their families of origin. Children’s Bureau encourages caring families to consider foster-adopting these children, according to the news release.

Children’s Bureau officials also invites individuals and couples to become Resource Families to care specifically for children during the reunification process with their parents.

Families who have the willingness, ability and resources to care for teenagers, older children and sibling sets are also invited.

The monthly information meeting for those interested in learning more is on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 10–11:30 a.m. at the Westfield Valencia Town Center Community Room Level 1 by LOFT, 24201 W. Valencia Boulevard, Valencia, CA 91355.

About Children’s Bureau

Children’s Bureau encourages individuals (single or married), who are interested in helping children find the love, stability and support a family can provide, to contact Children’s Bureau. Children’s Bureau, established in 1904 to protect children, began providing adoption services in the 1940’s in response to the increased need of finding homes for World War II refugee children and war orphans.

Today, we help 500 at-risk children in caring foster homes and finalize over 100 adoptions each year. For 110 years, Children’s Bureau has been a nonprofit leader in the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect.

More than 28,000 children and families are helped each year throughout Southern California with services that include school readiness, parenting classes, family resource centers, support groups, mental health counseling, foster care, foster-adoption and more.

  1. So, in order to purchase one of these children, we have to go to this event? We would like the increased tax write off and the monthly boost in income. I know if I adopt, the county gets matching monthly funds and that’s much more important than re-uniting children with parents who were wrongly removed in the first place. Considering that you are up north, you should get a lot of that middle class crowd who will gladly help you break up minority families. Good luck!

  2. We’re getting puemelmd by snow here. Fortunately, we aren’t in danger of starving, as we’ve got enough food to feed a small army. And, obviously, power. So we’re doing fine, in spite of the fact that the steps up my front porch are buried.
