“They’re bringing together a lot of wonderful people that all share a common goal, and that is to be part of the solution to help,” said Mayor Laurene Weste, who attended the event. “It is a wonderful array of human spirit coming together to help support a cause and a cure. I’m very profoundly moved to be here with a room full of people that care and lovingly are supporting getting people through this tough time.”

Created in 2004, the afternoon tea is one of three major fundraising events Circle of Hope officials host annually to help further their mission to support cancer patients in the Santa Clarita Valley.

In honor of Circle of Hope’s 10-year anniversary, organization officials are expanding their reach within the community to include other types of cancer as well.

“We are now providing assistance not only with breast cancer but with cervical, ovarian, uterine, colon, testicular and prostate cancer,” Tippet said. “We’re using the same breast cancer model to help individuals with their medical bills and with their insurance.”

Many Colors of Hope is part of what the organization is calling 31 Days of Hope, which was created in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and involves organization officials raising funds within the community every day of October.
