“Whether hosting the annual River Rally, committing to recycle 90 percent of all construction debris or replacing old light bulbs throughout the city with more energy efficient ones, the city of Santa Clarita goes above and beyond to use clean energy wherever possible,” said Laurene Weste. “The city is proud to offer this free community workshop to show residents how they can help support the environment and save money by going green at home.”

In addition to learning about the benefits of upgrading their homes to be more energy efficient, Santa Clarita residents will also be informed about basic building science, such as steps to take before adding solar to a home and the numbers and facts behind the way homes use and lose energy, according to a city news release.
