An outdoor screening of the Academy Award-winning Pixar animated film “Inside Out” will be held from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at the campus’ outdoor Carl A. Rasmussen Amphitheater.

Guests are encouraged to bring lounge chairs, blankets and jackets to best enjoy an evening watching a film under the stars. Food trucks will be providing food on-site in addition to the free movie snacks that will be provided.

A special children’s activity hour led by the college’s Early Childhood Education and TEACH programs will be held from 6-7 p.m., prior to the film screening.

“This will be our third annual movie night at the Canyon Country campus, and each year seems to draw a larger crowd,” said Anthony Michaelides, acting dean of campus services and operations. “Movie Nights provide an opportunity for our local community to visit the campus, bring their family and enjoy an evening out at the movies.”

Additionally the Canyon Country campus will be hosting a guided garden walk and tour of campus from 9 to 11 am on Saturday, Nov. 5, the tour will allow visitors to explore the campus’ plant life just in time for the cool fall temperatures.

Participants will be able to learn about the different types of native, drought-tolerant, invasive and eco-friendly plants and trees growing on campus.

“The campus garden walks have become a popular event, drawing a diverse crowd of students, faculty, staff and community members”, said Michaelides. “They are open to everyone, and are a fun way to get some exercise while learning about the beauty of our campus.”

Tour participants will also have the opportunity to plant and seed their own wildflower patch.

The walk will start at the flagpole in Lot 3, where parking will be free for tour participants.

Both the movie night and garden walk events are free and open to the public.
