COC Invites Santa Clarita Residents To Participate In 9th Annual ‘Turkey Trot’

The COC Athletics Department has invited community members of all ages to participate in the 9th Annual Thanksgiving Day “Turkey Trot,” the yearly fundraiser benefitting the college’s cross country and track & field programs.

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 23, Santa Clarita’s running enthusiasts traverse COC’s campus in support of the community college’s athletic programs.

“At the event, participants will run a three-mile cross country course through the COC Valencia campus, beginning at the college’s baseball field and continuing through the campus, winding through the hills overlooking the Santa Clarita Valley, and finally finishing inside Cougar Stadium,” according to an event news release.

The entry fee, which includes a race T-shirt, is $20 per individual, and participants are allowed to walk, jog or run the course. Checks can be made payable to “COC ASG,” according to officials

Registration takes place at the race start, so no pre-registration is necessary, according to event organizers. Participants can sign-in at the track finish line on the day of the event.
