Hart Rampage To Be Held Nov. 1

Hart Regiment Band & Colorguard officials are expected to host the 31st annual Marching Band Field Tournament, Hart Rampage, at College of the Canyons Cougar Stadium on Nov. 1, according to a news release.

One of the most anticipated Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) tournaments of the rampage2season, Hart Rampage will feature performances by about 35 marching bands and colorguard units, including all six Hart District high school bands.

In addition, Pasadena City College Marching Lancers, the official band of the Tournament of Roses Parade will perform as guests.

 Hart High School was designated a California Distinguished Arts School in 2013.

With their new show entitled “Royals,” the Hart Regiment won all sweepstakes and caption awards at their first competition of the season, the Royal Classic Tournament.

Under the direction of Anthony Bailey, Hart has earned the SCSBOA Championship title in their division 10 times.

The event begins at 9:45 and performances will continue throughout the day.

Canyon High School is scheduled to perform at 1:15 p.m., Golden Valley High School is scheduled for 3:15 p.m., Saugus High School for 3:30 p.m., Valencia High School for 4:30 p.m. and Hart  High School for 7:15 p.m., according to the competition schedule.

Tri-tip barbecue, pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, baked potatoes, kettle corn, Dip ‘n Dots, smoothies, coffee drinks and snack items will be sold at the event, according to the Hart Regiment’s website.

Hart Rampage themed  t-shirts, pins, patches, backpacks and buttons can be purchased as souvenirs and a music-themed quilt and amusement park tickets will be raffled off at the competition.

The evening will conclude with a performance by the popular mass drumline, the Pasadena City College Marching Lancers.

The formal awards ceremony is expected to take place at 9:15 pm.

Admission is expected to cost $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students, and will be free for children under five, according to the news release.

Gates are expected to open at 9:15 am.
