Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital officials are getting ready for the 2018 Holiday Home Tour, along with a preview gala and boutique, set to benefit women’s services.

“We’re very excited this year because all our proceeds will go to the new center for women and newborns that will be in the new patient tower that’s opening the spring of 2019,” said Debra Weyand of the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Home Tour League.

The Dec. 1 event is set to features one Valencia home and three Stevenson Ranch homes in the Southern Oaks area that have been elaborately decorated to match a chosen theme.

“One of our homes that we’re especially proud of this year is being done by Patrick Tremblay and Karen Reilly. They’ve both been decorators for us before, (but) this year they’re doing it a little differently,” said Tami Reyna of the league.

A teacher at College of the Canyons, Tremblay has selected a group of five students from the architecture and design department to decorate one house together under his and Reilly’s supervision, according to Reyna.

“They are working on the house and doing a great job,” she said. “They are excited about it. It’s going to be wonderful.”

While the 2018 Holiday Home Tour is set to take place Saturday, Dec. 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., residents can get an exclusive look at the featured homes beforehand by attending the Preview Gala slated for Friday, Nov. 30 at The Oaks Country Club.

The community is also invited to shop the Holiday Home Tour Boutique the day of the tour, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Education Center, Rooms 4-7, located at 23803 McBean Parkway.

“We have 32 vendors that will be selling a variety of jewelry, clothing, holiday items and gourmet food — anything you need for the holidays,” said Weyand. “So if you want to start your Christmas shopping early, please come.”
