There will be a DJ, games, trivia and multiple giveaways all day long, starting at 11 a.m.

Python Plunge consists of two enclosed coiling slides side-by-side, with one enclosed slide straight down the middle, and each slide will empty out into Lizard Lagoon.

Lizard Lagoon is surrounded by tropical palm trees and lounge chairs where families can lay out and enjoy the sun, food and drinks, and relax, according to park officials.

There is also a three-and-a-half foot deep recreational pool with basketball hoops, water volleyball where kids and teens can play games and free-swim.

Visitors are able to experience the thrill of Python Plunge, while also relaxing and playing around Lizard Lagoon.

The Python Plunge is the second ride added to Hurricane Harbor since 2004 and the installment of their six-story funnel ride—Tornado.

“We are excited to introduce Python Plunge, a complex of three spectacular new slides this season,” said Bonnie Sherman Weber, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor park president. “We are committed to taking our water park to a new level of entertainment each and every year, and 2016 is no exception.”

Among speed slides at Hurricane Harbor, Bonzai Pipelines was added in 2014, which features two side-by-side speed slides that have a very unique launching system.

Each rider boards a vertical capsule after climbing to the fifth floor of the Black Summit Tower.

When the rider is ready, the floor beneath them will drop and send them down the coiled water slide at 40 mph.

The water park opens daily at 10:30 am. For specific details about operating days, call (661) 255-4111 or visit their website here.

The Python Plunge event starts at 11 a.m., which is open to the public. Contact the park’s website for admission.
