With the help of an adult, children between the ages of 18 months and 5 years can ride a no-pedal Honda Strider Sport training bike around a small race course, courtesy of Honda Performance Development.

The bikes, which are being provided by Strider Sports International, are designed to help children as young as 18 months learn to balance, lean and steer without getting distracted by pedals or training wheels.

“Here at Honda Performance Development, we think that the excitement of racing can be experienced at almost any age, and we’re excited to share that with the youngsters in the community,” said George Harmon, a Honda Performance spokesman.

“Because the tool reduced the time to extricate a victim from a car crash, literally snatching them from the ‘jaws of death’, the tool earned the name Jaws of Life,” Hurst Performance officials said. “Hurst Jaws of Life rescue systems now travel with more than 35,000 rescue squads, fire and police departments throughout the world.”

The free demonstration is part of the KHTS Emergency Expo, which will take place Saturday, April 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Valencia Hyatt parking lot.
