Santa Clarita residents of all ages are invited to the Jack Bones Equestrian Center in Castaic on Oct. 20 in order to taste several different takes on one of America’s classic comfort foods, according to officials.
The Fun in the Sun Chili Cook Off will once again feature a number of Santa Clarita businesses and organizations who have partnered with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station in order to support local Special Olympics athletes.
Participants can expect to taste over 25 different chili recipes, prepared and served by Sheriff’s Department officials and representatives from other local agencies.
Taste testers will then be able to cast a vote for their favorite chili recipes by purchasing chili cards at the event.
In addition to the chili, the public is welcome to enjoy a classic car show, live music, kids zone, LASD displays, and boutique stands featuring Santa Clarita crafters and vendors, according to event organizers.
All proceeds from the Chili Cook Off go towards the athletes of Special Olympics Santa Clarita and Tri-Valley.
The event is slated to run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Chili Tasting Card Prices:
Adult Tasting Card – $15
Junior Tasting Card – $5
