Magic Mountain Partners With Red Cross Today For Hurricane Fundraiser

On Saturday, September 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Magic Mountain will be collecting donations for the American Red Cross Disaster Fund.

The American Red Cross is launching the largest mobilization of resources for a single natural disaster, involving thousands of trained disaster volunteers and tons of supplies.  Over 208 shelters are currently in operation in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee and Arkansas.  An additional 166 evacuation centers on standby throughout the affected area.

“The citizens of Santa Clarita have been very generous,” says Will Leonard, Manager of the American Red Cross, Santa Clarita Service Center.  “We have received over $45,000 at the service center, in addition to all of the local fundraising.”

In addition to participating in the Magic Mountain and other fundraisers, those who wish to contribute can do so by calling 1-800-HELP NOW, going on line at www.redcross.org, or visiting the local American Red Cross Service Center located in the shopping center at the corner of Valencia Boulevard and Bouquet Canyon. Donations may also be dropped off at KHTS (Soledad & Camp Plenty) or The Signal (Creekside) during regular business hours.

The American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles works continuously to be prepared for disasters.  Local volunteers form Disaster Action Teams are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  All services are provided at no charge.  To become a Disaster Action Volunteer, please call the American Red Cross at (661) 259-1805.
