The City of Santa Clarita wants to remind everyone that the freshest fare is available all summer long at the weekly Newhall Farmers’ Market. For July and August, the City has teamed up with the Santa Clarita Valley Artists’ Association to feature an “Artist of the Week” each week.
A different premiere Los Angeles performer will be at each market throughhout the summer. The market runs every Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on San Fernando Road between Fifth and Sixth Streets.
Additionally, summer is stone fruit season and juicy, tree-ripened cherries, nectarines, strawberries, peaches and plums are available in abundance, along with vine-ripened vegetables, fresh corn on the cob, salad mixes, potted plants and fresh-cut flowers. The City encourages families and individuals to stay and enjoy the “Artist of the Week” performances over dinner. The market offers an assortment of homemade tamales, tacos, and sopas to enjoy on a warm evening.
“As the summer heats up, the City encourages everyone to come out and enjoy the Farmers’ Market,” says Jenny Aurit, Project Technician for the City. “There is not only great fresh food and homemade wares, but the performances provide great entertainment for the whole family.”
