The City of Santa Clarita would like to invite all local parents and guardians to a free parenting workshop, to be held on Thursday, February 16, 2006 at 7:00 pm in the City Council Chambers on the first floor of City Hall. The workshop, entitled, “What Happened to My Sweet Child? Understanding the Difficult Stage of Adolescence” is aimed at helping parents and guardians improve their communication skills with their teenage children.
Facilitator Tania Rosello, M.A. will teach parents and guardians better ways to build or reestablish a cooperative, loving relationship with their teens. This workshop is free and open to the public. Spanish language translations of the workshop will be available on request.
This event is part of the City’s free Pride in Parenting Workshop series, which is designed to offer parents a combination of support, education, resources, and incentives to become more knowledgeable and to be the best parents they can be. A different workshop is held each month of the year. City Hall is located at 23920 Valencia Boulevard.
RSVP at 661/255-4965. For more information about the event, or about other parenting workshops, please visit www.scyouthandfamily.com.
