Hundreds of Santa Clarita Valley residents are expected to participate throughout the weekend and create their own holiday wreaths, centerpieces and ornaments using fresh-cut greenery, pine cones and other natural items.
“People come from all over to this event and the wreaths that they make are just so beautiful,” said Mari Carbajal, the event’s chair. “It’s an event that people especially in this locale look forward to every single year so we get a lot of good participation.”
For a small donation, participants can select a 10-, 12-, 14- or 16-inch wreath base and decorate it using berries, pine cones and other natural items collected by the center’s docents.
Logs collected throughout the year are also transformed into candle holders that can be decorated by participants.
