Cindy Mark, a registered nurse working at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, has been named Staff Nurse of the Year by the Greater Los Angeles Oncology Nursing Society.
Mark began working at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in the Oncology Department in 1994. She had been a member of the National Oncology Nursing Society and the Greater Los Angeles Chapter since 1999.
Mark was honored at the December 2005 Greater Los Angeles Oncology Nursing Society’s Meeting.
"Cindy brings inspiration and initiative to her unit," said Nancy Loporchio, Nurse Manger of the Oncology Department. "She is relentless in her passion for oncology nursing. We congratulate Cindy for a job well done. She has a love for oncology nursing and that is demonstrated in her continued commitment to provide the best of care for her patients and their families."
Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center has been honored in the past by the Greater Los Angeles Oncology Nursing Society. Two years ago, Joslyn Niega was given this same title, and in 2001 the entire Oncology Staff was honored. Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills was also honored before by being named Best Employer.
