Relay Rally to Help Kick Off 2015 Relay For Life SCV

Officials are asking Santa Clarita residents to join the American Cancer Society’s 2015 Relay For Life of The Santa Clarita Valley at The Patios at Valencia Town Center this Saturday, April 11 from 11:30- 4 p.m.

This “Relay Rally,” is intended to help educate and excite the community about this year’s Relay For Life event, according to a news release.

The event will include a DJ playing great 80’s songs in honor of this year’s theme “Back to the Cure,” according to a news release. There will also be fun activities for children.

Booths will include information about Relay For Life and opportunities to sign-up a team or purchase luminaria, according to a news release. Admission is free.

About Relay For Life of the Santa Clarita Valley

Join the American Cancer Society’s 2015 Relay For Life of The Santa Clarita Valley at Central Park, 27150 Bouquet Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita, CA 91350 from Saturday May 16 at 9 a.m. to Sunday May 17 at 9 a.m. and help finish the fight against cancer. 

The SCV Relay For Life is a “Top 50” Relay in the world and the largest Relay in Southern California. Tami Edwards of SCVtv, a Santa Clarita resident and cancer survivor, will be the opening speaker and lead the Survivor Lap. This 24-hour event celebrates cancer survivors, remembers those we have lost and provides the community with an opportunity to unite and fight back against this disease.

Activities throughout the event include games, entertainment, food trucks and inspirational ceremonies. The event is free and open to the public.

You can join the fight against cancer by visiting www.scvrelay.org to register. Funds raised through Relay For Life support the American Cancer Society’s efforts to make this cancer’s last century and to provide much-needed services to people fighting cancer in the Santa Clarita Valley.
