Governor Jerry Brown signed a Wilk bill on Thursday, that will allow hospitals who treat local law enforcement patients for emergency health care services to calculate costs for care according to the most recent approved cost-to-charge ratio from the Medicare Program.

Santa Clarita Valley homes are going to be decked out for the holidays for the upcoming 34th annual Henry Mayo Home Tour this December.

The event is planned for Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Ticket cost is $30.

A Holiday Boutique will be open to the public that same day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pico Canyon Elementary School, 25255 Pico Canyon Road, Stevenson Ranch. Bring your friends a family to view a wide selection of creative and unique holiday items that will be for sale.

If you just can’t wait to see these dazzling homes, there will be a Preview Gala on Friday, Dec. 5, 6 to 9 p.m. starting with a festive buffet dinner at the Valencia Country Club, Valencia, and a tour of the homes. During the “Holiday Memories” themed event, visitors will have an opportunity to tour three homes decorated in unique themes of festive holiday décor in the heart of Santa Clarita Valley neighborhoods including Westridge, Southern Oaks and Stevenson Ranch.

Opening their homes to the community are: Mitch Farber and Marilyn Kastner, Mike and Brenda Nielson, and Trevor and Kelly Pooley.

The homeowners are working with local interior designers Patrick Tremblay, Myra Harbour and Ruben Haynes, on showcasing unique holiday perspectives in each individual home.

Visitors will be treated to such sights as a spiral staircase leading to Santa’s workshop, snowball collections, fabulous holiday floral arrangements, a whimsical holiday tree, a specially lighted grotto, antique chandeliers with holiday touches, A Nightmare Before Christmas-themed bedroom, a room of themed nutcrackers, and much more.

The holiday Home Tour is hosted by the hospital’s Home Tour League. To date, Home Tour events have raised more than $750,000 to benefit Henry Mayo’s Women’s Services.

The Home Tour is open to adults and children over 12 years of age.
