The fifth annual SCV Music Festival drew thousands to the Valencia Country Club last weekend.

Headliners for the two-day event that took place on Sept. 26 and 27, included Aaron Tippin and Blue Öyster Cult.

Aaron Tippin has crusaded for the working man and woman since he ripped country music wide open with his uncompromising ‘You’ve Got To Stand For Something,’” according to the event’s website. “On the strength of that remarkable song, he was invited to entertain the troops of Desert Storm.”

“Blue Öyster Cult is a tremendous rock band out of the seventies that are still performing and they sound great,” said John Heys, one of the event’s creators and organizers. “It’s one of those acts that normally would be playing at the Hollywood Bowl or places like that, and we were able to talk them into coming to Valencia.”

The lineup also included blues band Teresa James & The Rhythm Tramps and country artist Garth Guy.

SCV Music Festival has featured past entertainers such as: The Swon Brothers, Mindi Abair, Gerald Albright, Eric Darius, Ambrosia, Teresa James & The Rhythm Tramps, Jazzy Boy Jeff Harris, The Alan Wright Band, Darius Shipp, and The Blue Baron Band.
